TubeHive Privacy Policy
TubeHive is a Chrome extension designed to help users organize YouTube subscriptions into Chambers, save useful videos into Vaults, build Decks, support focus sessions, and reduce distractions while using YouTube.
We designed TubeHive to work primarily on your device. You do not need to create a TubeHive account or log in to use the extension.
1. Data Stored Locally in Your Browser
TubeHive stores extension data locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This local data may include Chambers, subgroup names, organized channel URLs, Vault and Deck video lists, Study Mode settings, timer state, allowed pages, PIN hash, Detox settings, onboarding state, and basic local usage analytics such as Study Mode time, blocked-site counts, and completed-video progress.
This local extension data stays in your browser unless you choose to remove it or uninstall the extension.
2. Channel Data Used to Improve Auto Organize
TubeHive may store a unique list of YouTube channels discovered during Auto Organize so the category system can improve over time. This may include channel names, channel URLs or identifiers, and category-related metadata needed to improve organization quality.
TubeHive does not require login, and this stored channel list is not tied to your personal identity. We do not store whose subscription list a channel came from. The purpose is to maintain a unique channel reference set for improving Auto Organize, not to build user profiles.
3. Data We Do Not Store on TubeHive Servers
TubeHive does not upload your personal Chambers, Vaults, Decks, Study Mode settings, Detox settings, local analytics, or complete personal subscription list as user-linked data to any TubeHive server.
TubeHive does not sell your data.
4. External Links and Services
TubeHive may open external pages when you choose to use them, including Google Forms for feedback, feature requests, bug reports, Auto Organize feedback, and uninstall feedback; Patreon for support; TagMango for support or checkout; and YouTube pages required for the extension experience.
These services have their own privacy policies. Any information you submit on those platforms is handled by those services and not by TubeHive.
5. Chrome Permissions
TubeHive requests the storage permission to save extension settings and local extension data in your browser.
TubeHive requests the tabs permission for Study Mode and Strict Mode features, including detecting YouTube tabs, opening YouTube or support pages, refreshing YouTube tabs after settings changes, and redirecting blocked tabs during Strict Mode.
6. Host Permissions
TubeHive requests host access only for https://www.youtube.com/* and https://youtube.com/*. This access is required to display TubeHive UI on YouTube, organize subscriptions, filter YouTube pages, and apply Detox and Study Mode behavior.
7. Remote Code
TubeHive does not load or execute remote JavaScript code.
8. Data Removal
You can remove locally stored TubeHive data by using the reset option inside the extension or by uninstalling the extension from Chrome.
